To original poster....I bet your head is spinning. I'd like to give you a perspective on the advice you've received here.
There are better amps out there than Behringer, but they cost a lot more. The bass player I mentioned who has the same amp you are looking at does paid jazz gigs with it, and has no desire to upgrade. His two main gigs are backing a guitarist on a river boat, and a 15 piece big band.
Others brought Peavey into the discussion. I own Peavey and I personally think it is better than Behringer. I've done maybe a couple of thousand gigs in my life and 80% of them would have been through Peavey amps. To my knowledge I never lost a gig because I was using Peavey, and I did up to 5,000 seat rooms
I own something better now, because I can afford it. But if I had to I'd make do with Peavey. If you are only doing small gigs, these sorts of amps are enough.
If you have the money and desire for something better, go for it, but you can be a working bassist with basic gear. Heck, do some research on Hofner basses to realise what a second rate piece of junk Paul McCartney's first bass was. You know if he'd spent 100 quid on a Fender instead of making do with a 30 quid Hofner, he might have been able to score a hit record or two.
Good luck with your choice.
