You know how you occasionally read a post where it's apparent that the doofus who typed has it has completely missed the point of most of the rest of the thread? It's a fairly widespread phenomenon most of the year.

I haven't done a quantitative study, but I suspect that the frequency of this right here on TalkBass increased significantly over the Christmas holiday period.

Funny old world. :atoz:

Not bad, not bad. :D

But to parody the type of thing I'm talking about incisively, you shouldn't really go too far off topic. Rather, you should aim to post something on topic, but still clearly showing you hadn't the faintest idea what other posters had very clearly stated.

This would presumably be because you hadn't read their posts properly, or because your capacity for comprehension was on the same level as that of a brain damaged bush baby.

Okay, go for it. ;)

People are so freakin' stupid on the Internet anymore you can't do anything but goof and make dumb jokes. If you try to seriously make an actual point about something, some idiot will get so upset over what he thought you wrote, or what he wanted you to have written, that the next thing you know, you're the object of some flaming lynch mob who don't have the slightest idea of what you originally posted -- nor can you ever get that through to them -- and they don't care anyway.

I was threatened with being banned on the TDPRI a couple of weeks back for EXACTLY that scenario. Talk about dimbulb users and moderators. :rollno:

Now THAT has really got me thinking. Well done, sir. :D

alot of famous players couldn't reed! just cause you cant come up with a original idea without the help of your precious theory doesn't mean that others people cant! why must we all fit into your mold why cant you just except that music is about freedom?

:D

Yes like I said the Matrix/Vibe is a good example.

However, they are a day late and a dollar short. It's like Microsoft trying to get in on the Mp3 player business....The Zune will never compare to the iPod on the sales floor (nor will it features wise, cause apple does a damn good job of staying ahead of the curve with its cash crop).

The Japanese cars came into favor because they have been doing the sporty, fuel efficiency, euro look thing for the past 20+ years GM and Ford have been at it for what 3? With a purchase as big as a car you need to earn your rep...I want to see them on the road with 200,000 miles on them. That's what people see in the Japanese car companies right now.

Also the American luxury brands don't stand up to the German or Japanese brands at all. When was the last time you saw a 30 something exec in a Lincoln? Lexis sure, Acura yup, BMW hell yeah, Mercedes every day.

Oxygen tanks should come standard in American Luxury cars, cause everyone I see driving one looks like they are about to die.

+1. And furthermore, if you don't like hearing it from a typical user who doesn't read the OP, then you can read it from the source right here.

*wait for it, you'll see what I did there*

I have to say that I think Bongolation did a great job (see above).

I ask for a parody post, suggesting the point of the thread has been missed…
Bongolation pretends not to have understood what I’m asking for…
And so posts something that shows he understood the point of the thread perfectly.

Very devious. I like it.

Or perhaps he really was serious.
