Good Morning Friends!
Been swamped with work of late, but I probably got one of the first Danelectro "Wild Thing" basses to go out on the East coast a few weeks back. It was a long wait as my order was placed last March, but production problems in China delayed shipment until this October. It finally arrived a week or so back and it's alot of fun to play! I went with the candy apple blue as you can see.
For fans (or foes) of Danos, there is much that is familiar: dodgy tuners and non-intonable bridge, but the classic Dano tone via the two lipsticks remains, while the stacked pots give it a little more tonal variety.
This is a shortscale (30" neck) with a rosewood fingerboard. The body and neck are made from the traditional masonite and the white edge tape has an ostrich skin texture. Familiar "bottle" headstock.
Got is shipped for $309 including a gig bag. Another to add to my Dano collection!
