Belly (Fred Abong/Gail Greenwood)

That's awesome man, unfortunately, being only 17 I never have the chance to see either of those two live. I start digging into Belly when I heard the small preview for Feed the Tree on the Rock Band DLC store in January or February if I'm not mistaken. I only heard thirty seconds but it sounded like a great song so I downloaded Star to check out the full song and the album it was on, I've been hooked ever since.
What are your favorite bass lines for them? For Fred Abong Dusted and Feed the Tree are some of my favorite bass lines from Star. I enjoy Dusted for the bass tone and how simply effective it is. Feed the Tree is great for build up to the second chorus and how Abong changes up the chorus every time. Gail is really great on King, but the some of the highlights are the title track and Untitled and Unsung. I love King for the gurgling bass part in the verse and the cool chromatic(I think) part during the chorus going from D to B. Untitled and Unsung is a great melodic bass line.

I read a interview where if I'm not mistaken Donelly said they at least enough material for 2 more albums. It really is a shame that they broke up before they could complete those albums, I love to see Belly reform.
king is one of my favorite albums of all time, gail's playing is nice aggressive and awesome. on that note if you liked belly, then Letters to Cleo and Tracy Bonham should be at the top of the list for music of this time period, the bass work is melodic and interesting. i think they went through a few players between the two bands.
King is probably my second favorite of all time. It truly one of the few albums that can really get me emotional. I'll check out Tracy Bonham and Letter to Cleo tomorrow, thank you.
