Berg ip112 question

How big rigs can one Berg ip112 replace? I have a Thunderfunk now and am qurious about the ip112. Can the ip replace the Thunderfunk with a 1x12, with a 2x10, with a 1x15, with a 3x10 or even a bigger cab?
I know thats hard to generalize as a 1x12 or 2x10 from one manufacturer is not the same as the next manufacturers.
But in your experience what rig (brand and configuration) can one ip112 replace?

I know the IP-112 can replace an aggie GS112, an epi UL112, an ea NL210,an eden 210, etc. And i'd venture a guess that it will replace just about any 210 or 112 out there with 500 watts going through it. What i don't think it can replace are things like 2x12s, 3x10s, 4x10s, etc. But once you add on a ex112...:D

IMHO, the idea behind the IP112 is not to be louder than a larger cabinet with more drivers. It's more about sound quality than being loud. For a compact 1x12, it is loud as well as ridiculously good.

The way the IP112 gets louder is with the addition of a Berg EX112 cabinet which is also powered by the IP112. They stack perfectly and you get 1000 watts into those two boxes vs. 550 with the TF driving the AG.

With any gear stating that it's louder may get you a yes but at what expense? Tone maybe. Most gear can be driven to obscene volumes but not continue to get the glorious tone it is known for after reaching 75%. For me it is an excuse to use more cabs and amps if necessary to sound good. I like the overdriven sound of some gear too.
And yes an underlying comment about the IP gear is how loud it is. I don't favor the IP112 and with the extension it is no way big and clear as say the bigger IPs. For me, with my touch, with a 5 string with AG pre I find the EA iAMP800 and two Cxl112s is capable of much more clear volume than the IP112 w/ext.
Really we haven't gotten there where a lunch box rig will replace a stadium rig. Almost it seems though.

I won't comment on the other stuff, but the Berg IP series hardly gets louder at the expense of tone. It SMOKED my NL210 at any resonable volume tone wise.

I may have played one that was ill. Actually I have played the same one twice and it sounded raunchy. It had none of the potential, clarity or depth of the Cxl112. I was ready to sell all my EA gear and get an IP112 and ext. I know Jim doesn't make raunchy sounding gear. I have an IP310 and it's the shiznit!

Did you play a pre-update version? Mine has the new program in it (I'm pretty sure) and it sounds friggin incredible.

Having owned (and sold) a Tri 210L, I would say that a single IP112 would get a good bit louder than a Tri 210L with a good 500w head. And the tone... :bassist::bassist::bassist:

While the IP products get very loud for their size, I can't think of two rigs that sound more different (not better or worse, but different) than the Berg HT/IP products and the Accugroove cabs.

Given that both these lines of gear are mondo expensive, I would suggest that the thread originator determine what sound he is after (the more mellow, deep, organic, and somewhat upper treble shy tone of the Accugroove line, or the very crisp, smooth, studio-monitor type tone of the Berg HT or IP line) IMO, versus so much focus on 'volume'.
