+1 I play a church gig two weekends a month that is 5 services, two on Saturday night and 3 on Sunday morning, 2500 people. Very nice PA, in-ears, intelligent lights, smoke machine, video production, etc....every week. Top quality musicians, and you better show up being able to read a Nashville number chart and/or play any song in all 12 keys without having to think about it. I've played 1000's of "regular" church services since I was 13 years old or so, but these mega-churches are a blast to play. I enjoy it much more than I enjoy playing bars and dives.Some of these 'church' gigs are quite a production now. Remember some of Mikebass's clips... looked like a Broadway show.
Anything to make those same four relatively similar chapters from that book interesting week after week after week after week

Bergantino AE212 - Just Released

It is THAT MUCH louder. I was really surprised myself. It was definitely very noticeably louder. I was expecting that, to an extent. Since the sensitivity rating is a good bit higher on the AE212. So, it stands to reason.
I guess my only comment here is that SPL and max SPL are two different things. A cab can sound louder than another at a given volume setting (higher SPL), but still not be capable of louder absolute maximum volume prior to compression (max SPL).
That being said, the AE212 seems to really take the juice, and should, at the very least, reach the same max SPL as the DB112 x 2 or DB212.
Ill definitely have to try before I buy as Ive been subject to that whole 'I sold a good cabinet for a more boutique cabinet and preferred the already exceptionally good one I had before'.
I havent found a 2x12 or 112 I prefer to the DB112/212, and it would be a shame to buy another cab and barely use it because I prefer the Aguilar. Then again, testing might show I really like the Berg AE212. The weight/size doesnt really worry me, as when i need a lighter cab with less volume I just take an RS210, which works very well. So the extra weight on the DB212 (14 lbs or less) doesnt really cause an issue, plus it has removable casters.
The only pain is the depth of the DB212, but wow does it sound fantastic.
Time will tell, and a good test when I get a chance!

I don't think that anyone is saying the AE212 is better. Just different, for my needs, at this time. I prefer the Ae212 over the Aggies but that is my personal preference. Definitely try one out and decide for yourself. Fortunately, I was able to do that before I bought mine. I was in the same boat. I did not want to commit to one before I knew I was going to really like it. I loved the Aggies and felt no reason to change. I still live the Aggies. I just don't have the room to keep them all. Well, at least that I what my wife says.

Our church only seats about 600 and we run three services Sat eve, and two Sunday AM. Most of the musicians are cats who have played the bar scence for years. Most have givin that up just to play at church. I have met some very talented players on the church gig. We are not paid musicians at Hope (were storing up treasures in heaven as we say

I made the mistake of bringing this topic up to the organist after church yesterday. Now that the cat is out of the bag of me playing bass (especially DB) and my wife's abilities on the flute. We may be storing up treasures at some point as well..
Do you mean the AE212, or are you truly interested in opinions on the AE112? If it's the latter, consider posting this in an AE112/Promethian appreciation thread, or starting a new thread altogether. You're more likely to get people who have owned or played that combination.

Had my first gig with the AE212 / Shuttle 9.0 combination last night. I loved it. Reminded me of my AE410, but with balls. And I love the AE410. Very tight and smooth. And since volume was one of my big concearns for keeping up with my LOUD top 40 cover band, I am happy to say that the AE212 did a phenomenal job. Didn't even feel like I was reaching the cabs limits. Nice bottom and cut. And for the first time in a long time, I actually enjoy using the tweet. I've got another gig tonight, and quite a few coming up this month, so I'll have a better idea on the cabs overall performance. Right now, I am very very pleased. This little box is quite the monster!

Just a question: when you say "Reminded me of my AE410, but with balls" would you be able to elaborate just a bit, please?
When I think of my old AE410, I think of volume, clarity, aggressive "bite", tight lows, but not blooming lows. The AE212 had all of that, with a bit less bite, but deeper lows (yet still articulate). Very smooth. Either cab gets me where I need to be. I generally go for a rock tone - finger style playing. Tonights room is way different than last nights, so I'm curious to see how it goes.
I played the same combination a few days ago. I had pretty much the same sentiments. It could really keep up with the volume of my AE410 surprisingly enough. I am still quite impressed with this cab. I will have to use the F1 next time and share my thoughts.
