I can easily increase the time. My question is how long would a player on average need to determine if a particular setting would work for them. Just to also add here that if you want to compare different settings on the fly. Save one to Mem1, another to Mem2 and remember you have a 3rd on the home screen, and just switch between the various settings to get a real time comparison. In other words, you can use the Mem's as a comparison tool to determine which settings you prefer. And if you have our pedal, you can do it quickly without taking your hands off your bass.

That's what I do with the distortions, I have them stored in Mem1 and Mem2 (although, as nice and convenient as they are, I still prefer the sound and further adjustability of some pedals, so I'm going back to a pedalboard and using the B|Amp clean). BTW I'm not only talking about the distortions but for all adjustments (for example the frequency center of a knob, a cab profile etc). I think 1 minute would be enough for me, but I'll take anything from 30 seconds and up if 1 minute seems too much.

Distortion is like food. There are so many flavors. My goal with the B|AMPs distortions was to give you a very usable distortion to hopefully be able to forgo using and paying for distortion pedals. For many, I have met this goal, especially with the more recent releases of the firmware. And during the development process, our distortions have been compared to many of the more popular pedals and considered more "natural" sounding and usable overall. But again, some, like yourself, may prefer a more specific sound and I'm happy you've found it in some of the pedals that are available to you. One thing to mention is all analog based pedals, although you may be able to dial in a wide range of sounds, can only do one at a time and require real time adjustments to alter the tone if you would like a different sound during the course of a gig. With the B|AMP's distortions, you can save up to 3 settings and recall them in real time with the simple push of a knob or stomp of a pedal.

This thread reminds me of the saying "The more you give someone, the more they want!" ;-} I will do a new firmware version of the current 4.43(B) versions and double the timeout times for the various menus. I think that should give ample time for B|AMP owners to adjust their settings to their liking.

Another greedy future B/Amp owner here. Just a thought I have had about the memory presets... I know I will be using 5 or so different basses in several venues, sometimes more than one during a set. I would love to see 10 or 20 preset slots, then at the beginning of a set or gig, you can choose which 3 the pedal will recall.

For example, I play a lot of upright gigs where there is a portion of one set may be electric bass. So if I had my way, slot one would be standard rhythm section setting, slot 2 would be solo setting (different eq and gain, more compression), and slot 3 would be for Latin tunes. Then on that one set slot 3 would be a preset for whichever of my 5 electric basses I bring that night. Then the next night I'd reset my recall settings for my Motown, modern jazz bass slap, and synth basses. Then the next night it's one bass, clean and dirty, etc. All the settings would be pre-stored and any time I could choose which presets the pedal recalls.

I dont know how easy or reasonable this would be. Thanks

Just another example of why Jim and his company is at the top of the customer service mountain. Internet forum quibbles/wishes/etc. solved with a new version coming downline within minutes. Just doesn't get any better.

Before I release 4.44(B) to the public, anyone here can email me asking for it and I'll let you guys give it a spin first. The only difference between this version and the previous version 4.43(B) is the menu's timeout time has doubled. Email me at [email protected] with "The B|Amp Rules!" In the subject line. ;-)

Received, installed, tested and I can confirm I like it much better this way. I wouldn't mind if it was even more, but at least it no longer feels as if I'm being chased! However, I hope you'd extend it to the knob frequencies menu as well. I mean it's very easy to go back to the home screen from there, just press the knob you just adjusted again, so I don't see why it needs to return quicker there. If someone has just changed the frequency center and needs to go back to adjust the knob, I doubt they'd just wait for even the 20 seconds to run out, they'd just press the button to go to the home screen immediately. But if you wanna play a little to see if that's indeed the frequency you want to boost or cut, same as with the effects, it would be nice to have more time.

Actually I doubled the knob center frequency adjust time from 10 - 20 seconds.
