I'm thinking of getting one of these cabs. Any input from Berg owners would be appreciated.
I currently play a 4ohm Ampeg 610HLF cab underneath both my SVT head and Orange Terror head. I'm thinking of getting a Berg cab since I've read so many positive things about them.

Between the HS410, NV412, and NV610, which would you recommend?

I currently own An Orange OBC410 and an Orange OBC115. Both 8 Ohms. I will be pairing those up together when I play out occasionally. But since the cabs are 8 ohms, I wouldn't feel comfortable playing them individually with the SVT.

For a stand alone 410, would the 4 Ohm Berg be suitable?
Size really isn't an issue for me, so the 610 or 412 would work as well.

Sealed cabs sound VERY different from ported cabs. I prefer ported myself, so the HS410 would be my choice (best 4x10 ever made IMO). It will handle most gigs you can find with power and authority to spare...

Any of these cabs are great and would work well with your SVT, but IMO (and from many others as well) the NV series is just a match made in heaven with a good tube head like the SVT. The NV610 in particular is known as the SVT 810 fridge killer, and with good reason. If that's the sound you want, then the NV610 seems like a clear winner to me. If you want a little more low end bloom but still with the typical sealed cab rolloff, the NV412 might suit you better. The HS410 is an awesome cab in its own right, but being ported with a tweeter it's a different flavor than any of the NV's. Not in a bad way mind you, just different. Depends really on what your tonal sweet spot is, but if I had an SVT, I'd go with the NV610 in a heartbeat.

From reading, they are all great cabs, and you would need to play them yourself to decide which fits your vibe the best.

I also have the NV610, and it is pretty much an endgame big cab for my purposes. But, a lot of cats who have played the 412 prefer it for a more rock oriented sound, IIRC. 2 flavors of greatness. Jim's 410's are likewise all great in different ways; but, I would personally favor the 610 because it loads in/out so easily and has basically the same footprint with a good bit more push when needed. But, if you want the more ported tweeter thing going on, then the 410 is the way to go.

This. Well said.

And though I gig with an AE cab (back surgery), I'd really love to have an NV610. One of the greatest cabs ever made IMO and the perfect compliment to an SVT.

I haven't yet tried the NV412, but I absolutely love my NV610 and also my pair of HS210 cabs. Given that you'll be using tubes, I too would recommend one of the NV cabs. I run a solid state rig, but it emulates the old SVT tone and the NV610 gets most of my gig time because it sounds fantastic even when I dial in lots of OD.

That said, my HS210 stack really kicks butt too. Despite being ported and tweetered, it's punchy as all get out, with plenty of lows. Of course it has more high end than the NV cabs due to the tweets, but they can be attenuated.

You're welcome to come up the road and try my NV215. Not the same as a 610 or 412 but it's sealed. There's a lot of stuff I haven't tried but this is the finest sounding cab I've ever been around. Would love to hear an SVT through it.

I've been talking with another N. GA TBer and a Chattanooga guy about doing a GTG soon.

SVT and any Berg NV is a great match. NV610 for old school rock (think fridge without the mass). NV412 I haven't tried but have heard its a bit less punch and a bit more bloom. The NV215 is supposed to be a great SVT match as well with more focus on a solid foundation. I have the NV610 and like it MUCH more than the Aggie GS412 I sold to buy it. Still looking for an NV215 to try or buy.

I've had the NV425 and the NV412 and I've settled on the NV610, it just has the right amount of punch .... it's much better than any of the Ampeg SVT cabinets, the NV412 has a little deeper voice and IMHO not as agressive sounding as the NV610, when you compare them side by side ....the NV 425 has a sound that's a little like the NV215 and the NV610, it's just basically a smooth sounding cabinet with a little punch from the 3-10's in them ...... they all sound good with the Bassman 300 Pro and with the 2 old Traynors I have YBA-3 and the YBA-3A, I also have the Peavey VB-2 and have used that amp with all the NV's, I also have a Bassman 1200 and an old Crate BT-350, since those are hybrid amps the NV's sound just as good ..... all in all the NV cabinet will sound/perform with just about any amp, IMHO

The NV's will be easier to move than the 410 since you can tilt and roll, not to mention you will be able to hear yourself better, so I would recommend them over the HS410. I have all three of the NV's and I say if you want to stick with the classic fridge tone for the SVT, go with the 610. If you like any kind of grind, grit, or OD, go for the NV 412.

Just wondering if anyone has had any experience or any thoughts on a led sled like the Glockenklang Heart Rock driving the NV610 ?

Would this combo work for a versatile setup covering anything from pop, rock, funk etc ?

I like the sounds of the NV610 for it's punch, classic but still fairly clear and defined tone in comparison to other classic sealed cabs.

I have both the NV412 and the NV610. They are killer! I use them together live. As a standalone I prefer the 412 as the 610 is a little darker in the low mids, but it may be in a way that compliments an SVT very nicely. If you play anything approaching loud volumes I would STRONGLY suggest the 610 or 412 over the 410.

Interesting. I've tried the 610, but not the 412. The part in bold is counter to what I would expect; I would think the 412 would be a little darker.

I have the NV610 and NV215 - as everyone says you simply cannot go wrong with any NV cab (or any Bergantino cab for that matter IME).
The NV610 is first choice for many with an SVT but these days I tend to use the NV215 more as it is just as tight but more extended at both the bottom and top ends. My SVT VR loves it, and as an aside it is a match made in heaven with the Orange AD200.

Youre absolutely right Greg. I TOTALLY expected the 412 to be the darker and lower voiced cab, but this is evidence in support of all those guys that say speaker size doesnt determine the voicing of a cab. The 412 is a little brighter and more open to my ears. Paired with the 610 is nothing short of glorious. In fact I got to FINALLY play the two out together live a few weeks ago and my guitarist still keeps telling me how it was the best sound Ive ever had onstage and what he always hoped I could sound like.... thats right, It even makes guitards take notice.
