Bergantino Forte

Tried the Forte out at Willie's in MN a few weeks back and fell for it hard. I went back and forth about whether I needed a Berg cab before I bought another bass head. Just placed and order for the Forte. Can't wait to try with my current cabs...and eventually (soon) scrape together enough to get an HDN212.
Not just because I own one, but I think the forte will go good with most "well designed" cabs. I would venture to say that because a well designed cab seems to sound good with most if not all well designed bass amps. e.g.-Before Bergantino made amps, he made some incredibly well designed speakers that sounded and performed great with just about any bass amp. Even better with the better designed amps.
And congratulations on your amp. Let us know what your impressions are after you give it a good run.

Ordered it at 2 pm yesterday and received it at 3pm today. I only got a few minutes with in my bedroom setup but it’s sounded amazing! I little doubt that a HDN212 or 2 112s are up next and my assortment of bag ends, gk, and others will be sold off.

Which Bag End do you have? It'll be interesting to know how it kicks with Bag End. I'm interested in the big 15" cab. I was hoping to check out the combination out next week.

I have an s-15d/15dx combo at home and an s-15bd at the practice space. Will experiment a bit but I just placed an order for a hdn210 so I may need to sell them to pay for it. ;-)

I have Fender Neo 410 as well. How would the Forte be if I run with hdn210+410 Neo or the hdn210+s-15d...or even with all three of the above since the amp goes to 2 Ohms?

Thanks Atlanta Bass Gallery for having Bergantino line and letting me A B C amps which made my decision to go
Forte’ !!!!!!!!!

Happy New Year !

Love my forte'/HDN112. You might consider adding an HDN210 rather than a second HDN112. This set of cabs gives you lots of flexibility to scale depending on venue - 112, 210, or both. The 210 is really an amazing cab, and only a few inches/pounds bigger than the 112.

I was very, very close to laying down the cash for a new B/Amp. But then reality set in, and I remembered that I'd honestly probably never use (or even try to use) 75% of what that amp is capable of.

This new Forte amp is just my speed. Give me a straight-ahead 3 or 4 band eq, gain, master volume, and I'm golden. I can definitely see one of these in my future.
Ha! Funny how things change! I’ve now been gigging a B Amp, and wondering how I lived without it for so long.

But, I’m willing to bet I’d have been completely happy with a Forte as well, had I not jumped right into the B.

Thank you for the well wishes. I would also like to extend all the best to everyone in the TB and bass playing community for a very Happy, Safe, and Healthy New Year!

You know you're not going to get the best sound out of that rig with the amp placed orthogonal to the cab.

I always set the amp up to true north (not magnetic north - that's lazy). The meridian flux helps compensate for orthogonal nodes. Some nights I need to add my turbo encabulator but only when the framulator isn't really hitting on all 7 cylinders.

HDN 1-12 is a one hander which my lower back prefers

I’d rather

I’ll give other Berg cabs a listen but the HDN 1-12 is more bass focused and sounded “ better” to my ears

Weight was 50 % of decision Also I have 2 basses with low B string and when played I want low B string to sound as clean and clear as G string which I believe is better realized with additional 1-12 [ymmv]

2-10 is more mid focused [opinion]but flexibility is an interesting consideration

Thanks for your comment/ suggestions

Willing to consider other opinions whether in agreement with me or not

My mind and ears are open
