I currently have a MarkBass 104HR which I find to have a great tone overall. I don't need the horn but when I've used it with fuzz its very very clear and strong. i normally keep the horn switch turned all the way down though and use a low pass filter to trim everything above 2K anyway.
One thing I don't like, however, is the color scheme of the MarkBass. In my college band it was fine but now that I'm 35 and playing with classic rock cover band I feel like it looks out of place. I currently also have an Aguilar 210SL and 112DB as well as a Barefaced 210 on the way. So I want to get another 410 to replace the MarkBass and have been trying to decide between a few higher end companies. I'm leaning most towards the Aguilar 410SL. I would get the DB if weight wasn't an issue but 98 lbs is just crazy when lighter options are available. Also being considered is a Bergantino NXV410. I mostly use a Bergantino Forte HP but also use a Mesa 800TT and MarkBass Little Mark Tube 800 occasionally. The Bergantino cab is a little bigger than the Aguilar with the unique speaker layout but it seems to be manageable in size and weight.
I haven't received my Barefaced 210 yet but I have considered another 210 or a separate 410. The only problem i see is that 2 210s running at 12 ohms each would be 6 ohms which isn't maximizing the amp power. I could leave them set to 4 ohms for the Berg and Mesa since they will run down to 2 ohms but it leaves out the Markbass and other heads I may acquire that can't run 2 ohms.
Are there any other premium 410s I should consider? I looked at the Genzler 410 array too but I'm not sure the 3" speakers would be any benefit if I usually cut my highs way back. Anyone have experience with the Bergantino or Barefaced that can offer feedback?
Thanks in advance
