Best American AYCE Buffet

My mother and I went to a local Chinese buffet and it was only $7.19 each for lunch. They had a wide variety of Chinese and some other Asian dishes, fresh made to order sushi, fresh cooked to order hibachi grill food, desserts and ice cream, and an array of roast beef, pizza, ham, mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, etc.

It was a really good deal.

Our best value for money at the moment is in the same shopping center as Crutchfield. It's such a good deal that buses offload people there, like when kids go on field trips to James Madison University's Planetarium.
It's typical Americanized Chinese fare, but they also have a bit where you can pick out raw meats & they stir fry them for you. (Mongolian BBQ)
I think it's just under $8 after tax & each table has a little sign on it that reads "Don't forget to tip".

I wish the Korean BBQ restaurants would become a thing in the U.S..
They're all over Thailand & they are the best value for money in an AYCE setting:

You pick the meats you want & fry them up at your table.

You can also make suki in the lower ring of the grill:

Chinese buffets in small Pennsylvania towns. You won't find anything more authentic. :D
I can kid because I grew up eating at the one in Altoona, and for years thought it was the best thing ever. Like going to China.

That's funny. There sure seems to be a lot of Chinese buffets around west central Pennsylvania for sure. One of my customers owns a small Chinese restaurant in Portage, PA, which is in the middle of nowhere.

I once made Dick's Last Resort in San Diego lose a lot of money on me during their all you can eat crabs legs promotion.

Oh wow, I used to love going to Dick's.

Our local crab-included buffet shut down that promotion quickly & I assume for the same reason.
no wait, we actually had two restaurants in the area that had seafood buffets, one is now completely gone & the other is back to selling their crappy ribs as a AYCE promo

Joke was on me, though. I couldn't use my hands for a couple of days afterwards what with all the salt water and cracking of shells over the course of three or four hours.
My brother once managed a Sizzler where two professional football players came in and ate over a hundred plates of fried shrimp between them. Clay and Bruce Matthews.
