Our best value for money at the moment is in the same shopping center as Crutchfield. It's such a good deal that buses offload people there, like when kids go on field trips to James Madison University's Planetarium.
It's typical Americanized Chinese fare, but they also have a bit where you can pick out raw meats & they stir fry them for you. (Mongolian BBQ)
I think it's just under $8 after tax & each table has a little sign on it that reads "Don't forget to tip".
I wish the Korean BBQ restaurants would become a thing in the U.S..
They're all over Thailand & they are the best value for money in an AYCE setting:

You pick the meats you want & fry them up at your table.
You can also make suki in the lower ring of the grill:

Chinese buffets in small Pennsylvania towns. You won't find anything more authentic.
I can kid because I grew up eating at the one in Altoona, and for years thought it was the best thing ever. Like going to China.

Lot's of those here is So Cal.

The lower tier of meat's at most of those places is $10, and go up about 2 bucks per tier. Most are near Koreatown...Western and Olympic. So, I'll just be on the lookout for Lot's restaurants when I'm in L.A. again![]()
Pretty bad.How is it in Iowa?
I prefer not to eat from a trough.
Yeah, they are always mobbed. When I say lower tier, I mean the selections...2 bucks extra might get you pork as well, $4 extra might get you shrimp and steak etc...u get the idea.Well, if even the lower tier meat has possessions, it must be pretty good![]()

What is the best all you can eat buffet in America?
I once made Dick's Last Resort in San Diego lose a lot of money on me during their all you can eat crabs legs promotion.

My brother once managed a Sizzler where two professional football players came in and ate over a hundred plates of fried shrimp between them. Clay and Bruce Matthews.I once made Dick's Last Resort in San Diego lose a lot of money on me during their all you can eat crabs legs promotion.
Joke was on me, though. I couldn't use my hands for a couple of days afterwards what with all the salt water and cracking of shells over the course of three or four hours.
