Me says PJ configuration on basswood or alder does a very very nice old school trash type of tone. If you can grab an 80's jackson or Charvel, it should do the job just fine.

Ibanez SR series

I'd pick an Ibanez SR - a fast thin neck, tremendous low end, and crisp highs, but then again I'd pick it for everything :smug:

+1. i play death metal and te sr/srx series necks are the thinnest ive ever found, both through playing and researching on neck widths. 34mm at the nut, 24 frets, and the body is cutaway so you can access the higher frets with relatively little difficulty. well balanced, and just plain comfortable...
