ya might as well ask "Whats the best flavor of ice cream?"
Best in/for what, ? Still highly subjective.

there is no single best bass player imo. there are different players who are each good in certain genres. there are players whose work i loved but only during part of their careers. there are highly technical players who nail complex and fast music. there are sloppy players who put so much soul into their music that i gotta love 'em. and let's not forget innovative players, wacky players and guys who started it all.
