I have tried Stringrays many times - very overrated. I try to love them and can't.

I'm skeptical of any poster who puts a fictitious location in the profile...
I used to say the same thing years ago until I went to a concert where 4 of the 5 acts bassist played them with different backgrounds (the 5th had an boutique) and I got to hear why they are REALLY loved. Live, I've yet to hear a bass that sets in the BAND context as well as Stingrays. Also, being a self admitted passive junkie, I narrow mindedly brushed them off because in order to get the best out of them, tweaking is necessary. I will tell you this, with a set of Chromes they are very commanding (note: they were originally shipped out with flats back in the day).I have tried Stringrays many times - very overrated. She spells color the British way. Could be Canadian. I still suspect she's just being silly.View attachment 716659

I hope you did it ala Bernie Mac?

Nahhh Man! Her feet look like Hobbit feet. You seriously don't want to visit The Shire to rub those feet.♡♡♡♡♡♡Holy #! $*

Like I stated before, they were designed with flats plus, you can not eq all basses the same (but you probably already knew that). Use the treble knob like a passive tone knob. Boost bass to taste. Mids (if its a 3 band) flat to off. Once I found that setting, it was on and poppin'You are probably right...I also had a very hard time adjusting to a single pickup so close to the bridge, it felt like I had to pluck even harder to cut through, which may be the reason. I never had played the HH model but I would guarantee it would be a better fit in all areas, as I am sure that bass has some serious thunder.
Squier should sue that company for copyright infringement.Squire P.
Down here we mostly see largemouths so thats what a lot of people think is best. Outside of the really hip most people don't even realize that there is a virtual plethora of basses to experience from your basic freshwater smallmouth to some really esoteric saltwater models.Invalid Link Removed
Before you corrected the spelling of it at some point in the last few minutes? Yes, I looked.Have you tried looking?

So what are your thoughts on whether or not there's an objectively best bass? Do you see the problem with that question now?Yes, the "d" was missing - I didn't see that.
