Another vote for the Neox- I use a pair of 12's and think they match great with the Streamliner.Surprisingly a single Neox 12 hangs in there pretty well for smaller gigs-and Ive had the pair out for bigger outdoor festival gigs.Pushed harder but they took it with no problem.

Another vote for the Neox- I use a pair of 12's and think they match great with the Streamliner.Surprisingly a single Neox 12 hangs in there pretty well for smaller gigs-and Ive had the pair out for bigger outdoor festival gigs.Pushed harder but they took it with no problem.
I thought I saw a 900 in the classifieds for like $560.00, or something ridiculously low like that.
It was, I inquired but I was too late or it would have been mine. I really like how the streamliner and the fEARful complement each other.
What you are describing, in my opinion, is the Baer ML112. I use one with my Streamliner 900, and it does everything you are looking for in spades. The mid-driver sounds incredible when you push the tubes to breakup.
It kind surprises me that Kjung does not contribute to this thread as he has used and tried extensively the STM 900 and gave many precious advices on this same argument in the past.
I may mimic his statements that I consider absolutely dependable. taking apart personal taste it has been said that:
- the STM does compliment better with tight sounding cabs, better if closed.
- cabs with a certain mid bump in frequency response, if possible in the 1-2 Khz area, where the STM is very polite sounding
- cabs with an extended bass response and full-range systems could be too deep and bassy for some
- cabs that are scooped in nature, like some Epifani, seem to be a bad match for some
- usual brands and types that perform well with the amp include the Bergantino AE series (AE410 or 210, even 112), the Schroeders (the common lack of very deep bass of these cabs proves to be useful in this case).
I have to add that even if the amp is capable of massive perceived lowend and volume, my cabs have never struggled at giving what they took in terms of watts. this is an apparent absurd thing, because we all know that mechanical abuse usually occurs before hitting the thermal power rating of a cab (in my case Ae210 x 2 = 800 watts total).
But with the STM and its fabulous power amp and limiting technology (that acts as a high-pass filter cutting sub bass significantly) the speakers have an happy day delivering all that tone and volume.
As an example, my speaker system does compress and begin to fart with a 550 watts Thunderfunk before the amp delivers its maximum power, but those same cabs never showed signs of "fatigue" with the mighty STM 900 pushed towards its limits power-wise...cool eh?
And, this is also more impressing considering that the STM sounds much more meaty than my Tfunk...in this regard, with little tricks of smart engineering, the STM almost seems to fight the laws of physics...

For a cabinet to definitely not use - the Aguilar GS112 - bad bad bad. Love my Aggies but they do not play nice with the STM900. The GS112's stayed and the STM left.
On the other hand during the STM900's brief stay in my quiver I did run it with the neox212 - that was/is a nice light weight combo.
