Best cable for the money???

I've been playing for 20 years now. I've got 3 old monster cables I bought in the early 90s never a problem. 2 Fender cables that came with basses I bought at various times, no problem. I have 2 spectraflex cables I use for gigging that I have not had a problem with. The only cables I had trouble with were some cheapo cables with the blue shielding from back in the late 80s. I also have all Mogami in my home studio.

I've done some critical listening and found with my DB playing the monster cables are a little darker then the spectraflex. This is in a controlled environment, on the gig I can't hear a difference.

For the past 10 years I've played about 6-8 gigs per week. I have not had a single cable issue. The slightly larger jack on the Monster stuff did help in wearing out a few amp input jacks though and for that reason they tend to sit on the shelf. The cheapo Fender cables get used for practicing at home and have zero issues as well.

I guess I'm no help!

I've been using a Mogami for the past 3 years, and it's fantastic. Everything else I've tried sounds choked in comparison.

When I went to the store, I was ready to pay a lot more for one of those high-dollar Monster cables.. The guy behind the counter urged me to try a Mogami side-by-side with it before just buying, and I'm glad I did. I never really thought the cable would have such a massive effect on the tone and response of an instrument until I took the time to hear things for myself. I was blown away with how balanced, clean, and open the Mogami was, and it cost LESS than the Monster!

I am interested in trying out the Evidence Audio stuff, but I'm so pleased with the Mogami, I think I'll save my money. :D

I like the George L's too. Check out bayoucables.com - Butch does a great job but according to his website, don't be in a hurry for a custom cable right now.

i checked out his website awhile back as i needed a cable for my X2 wireless, & i came to the conclusion, that i would pass on his service, as i've read here numerous times that he is SSSSSSLLLLLLOOOOOOWWWWWW at kicking out his product to the paying public, ( very bad business IMO )

ordered up a custom Mogami wireless cable from LAVA Cables, was STOKED when i got it in like 3 days :hyper::hyper::hyper:

ATTABOY LAVA Cables :bassist:

i normally use George L's on all my gear, but those LAVA ends look sweet

also,,

my guitard player uses monster cables exclusively, ( says he can really " hear " a difference :rollno: ) wanted to droptune a couple of songs, so he handed me his tuner to make it quicker & easier

the jacks were so jacked outta shape from those bigass monster ends, that i couldn't even get a connection with normal sized cables :confused::confused:

Monster---NO THANK YOU
