3 PC's, one monitor mouse, and keyboard. I could live with 2 connections. There are a million of these out there, I want it to be a cheap one if possible.

Best cheap KVM solution?

I had the two port version for a few years (don't need it anymore), and I never had an issue with it.
Not sure if this would work for you (but it is free), could you use Windows Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) to connect to each machine from one main PC? In that case, all you would need is a network switch that each pC is plugged in to, and enable RDP on all machines, and then connect to each from the main PC that is hooked up to the Mouse, Keybd, and monitor.

I use RDP and VNC now, I have a KVM for a couple of servers at work and I like it a lot better. thanks for the link, I'll check it out.
both belkin and dlink make good units that are cheap. You may find the cables cost more than the box. The thing to look out for is that although the box is solid state and doesn't use mechanical switching like the real old days. It keeps your kb and mouse powered and recognized to the pc that isn't in use at the time so that you don't loose control going back and forth.
Other than that we use them all day everyday and haven't seen a bad one for quite some time. If you wanted top quality, Raritan is the go. In the states they may be cheaper but over here they are a few $$$ but worth it.

I want less monitors than I have though. I just ordered a nice big Samsung, one monitor to replace them all basically.
Yep, Samsung makes some nice monitors, typically spec'd higher than anything in their price range too, which is cool. I got the 19" myself, which because of how close it is to my face, is plenty big. I didn't want to pay all that extra either. Also mwave was having a sale on the 19".
That's the same here, using 22's but their cheap now so it's no so hard on the pocket.
