If you're looking for guitar building parts and tools, it's tough to beat StewMac.com

There stuff ain't cheap, and most of it you can use something else in a pinch to do the same job, but there is something to be said to having the right tool for the job. Also, you order something before about 2 in the afternoon central time, they will put it in the mail the same day. Also, the ship via priority mail and it goes from Ohio to Utah in two days. They're good gents.

Recent good customer service experiences:

1) Fender. Cable on the Fender/Aurisonics IEM went bad on one side, called 'em, got a new one in my mailbox 2 days later.

2) Seismic Audio. Got a pair of powered PA speakers but one had the wrong amp in it. Called them and sent an email picture of the wrong amp. Had a replacement 3 days later and a pre-paid UPS mailer to send the messed up one back in the same box with.

3) Discount Tire in Victoria, Texas. A wheel stud snapped off when they were replacing the tires(Dodge Caravan). They paid a nearby shop to replace it, not a fun job. Internets research later told me this can be a common event on this particular vehicle especially if the nut rusts to the stud....also not uncommon.

4) Amazon(Prime member) has been helpful on a number of occasions. A DOA computer, refunds of expedited shipping if not received on time, AND the time they somehow put Bugera Nuke amps on sale(?) for $212 with free shipping. Didn't use customer service on the Bugera but getting a couple of them at that price was quite a "Customer Service" IMO.

Had a good experience with Google recently. In January '17 I bought a used Nexus 6P phone. After a few months it would sometimes shut down with 20% battery. Appears it was a known issue but my phone was well over a year old and I didn't purchase it originally. In August I saw that they were exchanging these phones as long as they were bought from Google. I gave them a call, they ran the IMEI and confirmed it had originally been bought direct from Google and said they would get me a new phone. Instead of a refurbed or even new Nexus 6P they sent a brand new Pixel XL. That was a pleasant surprise.

You better get your hands on your credit card statement ASAP.

There was no credit card involved. Publisher's Clearing House sent me a bill to pay with the book. When I spoke to the customer service person, there was no credit card payment involved thank goodness. My credit card information is not listed with Publisher's Clearing House anywhere.

Amazon have always done right by me.
NewEgg are stellar with computer parts especially in regards to assisting with factory returns or defects.
Western Digital went over and above for me. I had a water damaged HD from my PC which was in a house fire. Not only did they replace the HD, they upgraded me to a better version. No charge. I'm a fanboi for life now.

Whirlpool did right by me... I bought a new gas stove and the cast iron grates that sit above the burners started to warp. Could have been a real safety issue should a pot be rocking on the stove top.
They sent me two new grates, both warped right of the box. After that they offered me a new stove and a credit towards the new stove that was substantially more, than the amount I paid for the original stove. It was an easy change over to the new stove and they have followed up with me in a very courteous and friendly manner.
Pretty happy with the results.

I just had an occurrence with Publisher's Clearing House today.

Yesterday, there was a package in my mailbox from Publisher's Clearing House. I did not order anything from them and wondered why I got it. I opened the box and there was a book on how to make smoothies and juices along with a bill for $15.95. I have no idea why it was delivered to me.

I called their service center and spoke to a customer service person and told her that I did not order that book nor anything from Publisher's Clearing House and asked her what should I do to send it back. She said their was an online order placed on Oct. 11th with my name and address. I still don't know how since it was not me who placed an order. She told me that she would delete the bill and I could keep the book as a gift from Publisher's Clearing House.

I sure was not expecting that. I would have been happy to return the book and delete the bill.

Now, that is some outstanding customer service (even though I was not actually a paying customer).
Now Ed McMahon and his ladies will not be visiting you with fists full of balloons and a giant check. :(

L.L. Bean. They will do almost anything to make a customer happy. Great quality stuff too.

When we moved to New Hampshire, we had to convert from Eddie Bauer to L.L. Bean. I wasn't expecting much from Bean, but after paying them a visit in Freeport, Maine, we were impressed.
I agree with you, great quality stuff and they'll do anything to make you happy.
We were telling a couple employees about our EB loyalty and the move we made. They hooked us up with some great prices on a few items, then shipped a box of stuff we bought as gifts back to our friends in WA for free.
We're back in the Pacific Northwest now, and it's not cool to wear Bean, so back to EB we went. :)

Tommy John, the mens underwear company.
They have what they call the "Best Pair You'll Ever Wear" New Customer Guarantee. The underwear ain't cheap, it was $30 for one pair I bought.
For me, it wasn't the best pair of underwear I ever wore, so I kicked off an online chat to let them know.
After a couple minutes chatting to find out what I didn't like, then a real low pressure offer to send me any other pair on the website for free, I asked for and was granted a full refund.
You get to keep the pair you paid for too.

Weber grills. My wife and I got a Simpsons charcoal grill as a wedding gift. We got married in late summer and didn't open the box until spring. When I did, there were chips in the porcelain. I called them up, expecting an argument, but the CS rep asked for the serial number on the grill, said okay, and said they'd be sending replacement lid and bowl right out. I asked about sending back the old one, and she said that if I could use it, just to keep it.

And they sent me a free cookbook for grilled pizza.

That was in 2001. The wife is long gone, and I'm still using the original chipped grill, waiting for it to wear out so I can replace it with the new parts.

I ordered a Fedora (hat, not the bass) from Amazon. It was $45.51 shipped, so not expensive.
It arrived yesterday right on time, but the box was smaller than the hat, so the brim was folded up in a few spots.
I started a chat with Amazon to let them know the hat was 'damaged', and that I would need to take it to my favorite hat shop to be fixed and have the brim and crown smoothed out and shaped properly.
The Amazon rep apologized, extended my Prime membership for one month, and issued an immediate refund for the hat. I got the text of the refund during the chat. That's how quick it was.
We're not done though. The rep told me it was a returnless refund. They told me to keep the hat since they were so sorry it happened.
This is why I continually see value in being an Amazon Prime member.

Nice to know there's another fedora wearer here. I'm partial to 40's and 50's Stetsons and Mallory hats.

I have a Brixton Messer (black) and a Bailey Blixen (brown). I plan to get a couple more this spring as those two are too hot to wear in the warm weather since they are felt/wool.
I got the Bailey from Bernie Utz, a hat shop in downtown Seattle, and prefer to shop there, but they don't carry this specific Brixton I wanted.

At some point, I hope to be cool enough to pull off a Fedora like the one Bear Bryant wore.
