Best easy to use compressor?

I had a PNP v4 on my bass and now I use it on my guitar board. I don't love the dirt so I dial and switch it out and it sounds clean to me. I also like that it has a nice signal from XLR. It's quite a useful comp.

DOD Bass Compressor (the old pink one) or the MXR are both good choices. Relatively inexpensive and not too confusing.
They'll love that in church.
This is your answer. Very transparent and easy to use. Itll either have to die on it's own (in which case I'd buy another) or Itll have to be pried from my cold dead hands.
It's always on for me. My worship pedal board consists of a TC electronics Polytune, the keeley bassist and the Sansamp BDDI v2 (really any pre amp pedal will work fine). That's all ya need!

This, Keeley Bassist... It's the easiest to set and forget, yet not a "one knob" deal. You still have control over incoming and outgoing volume without it getting complicated.

I think, after the Kokko, the MXR with the fancy lights might be the easiest to use, altho' the Pigtronix is also simple.
I use a Toadworks on my main live, and that is also easy and makes an unusually cool boost, as well.
Same with the Floor Q, altho' it's rather a colored sound and, like my gurrl says, it's a huge unit.
The most difficult to use is a BYOC multi-band, but with tweakage it can sound great.
But for a first 'pressor, I reco the Ampeg Opto.
I've been very pleased with my current setup (EHX Tone Corset) and have found it very easy to use. Admittedly I haven't tried much else though.
The Grompressor is cool. You can see every change you make and hear the effect.

If you want simple, and are OK with a non-pedalboard friendly thing, the DBX 163x is kind of cool. One slider, plus a pretty good metering of the compression.
I've had mine for years, but don't really use it all that often. If you use the input in the front there is a preamp in it too.
