Best flanger for bass.....

I have a boss bf-3. I would love to know why there is so much hype about the bf-2 opposed to the newer bf-3. I have never played a bf-2

I tried a buddy's bf-2 and was unimpressed. In other threads I've read that only some of the bf-2's sound great, I can't remember which ones. I stayed with my bf-3.

So, silly, have you used the boss bf-3? I think I'm either going with the boss bf-3 or the ibanez you're speaking of. I've never heard of the ibanez sf-10 but then again, I haven't payed much attention to flangers ever. Do you think the sf-10 will be better than the boss bf-3 in your honest opinion?

I've owned a BF-3 as well as a BF-3. I choose the SF-10 (Ibanez Swell Flanger) over both of the Boss offerings (even the bass specific one) because this one's tone was WAY more organic. And with that said it could also get A LOT more "flangy"? then the other 3. It retains the low end well and can ADD some low on the down sweep. It can thin out on extreme settings but to my ears its not a volume issue more of a huge tonal range that goes above typical bass frequencies.

I've tried all the flangers (including the one I own) on guitar as I play from time to time and prefer it on bass IMHO.

I had a BF-2 for years but a BF-3 came my way .... I sold the BF-2.

Lots of people love the BF-2. I have a BF-3, and it's okay, but certainly not the best.

i use the ibanez flanger. the yellow one. i cant remember the actual model, but it works great.

Best is subjective .... I like BF-3 as good as any others I've heard better than most.

I guess it depends on what your after.

The gate feature sets the BF-3 apart IMHO

I like my EHX Electric Mistress. It does chorus, flange, a combo of the two, fun speed options, and no bass suck. Its a pretty neat pedal.

I use an MXR EV Flanger. Its fairly mild but does the job while still keeping the low end.
