Best gig bag around?

I use a Pro-tec Contego, great protection and lots of storage space for stuff.

As far as the "best of the best" go":

- Igig, heavy with the most pocket space.
- Mono, lightest with the least pocket space.
- Reunion Blues Continental, nice protection, medium pocket space.
- Sadowsky/Access5, nice protection, medium pocket space.

You can't go wrong with any one of these five. Prices vary, as do the strap systems. Some ride high, some low, some have straps that tuck away, some don't. Choose what is best for YOUR needs.

There are a lot of great bags out there; many of which have been mentioned in this thread. For me, I just got a Mono M80 bag a few weeks ago and it has already been used a lot. Great bag all around (other than the price)

I forgot to mention that I also have a Sadowsky Porta bag. It's really great but it's on the heavy side for me. I rely entirely on public transportation so even though the Porta bag is great, I use it when I fly or take long trips in which my bass will be in a van with lots of other equipment. For daily use, I was searching for a bag that's light, has ample pocket space and rugged. I narrowed it down to one of the igig bags, reunion blues or the Mono M80. Those 3 are all in the same ballpark price wise so after a good deal of online research, I went with the Mono. I'm sure I would have been happy with any of the 3 bags mentioned. I have seen the new Mono bag that allows to load the bass vertically and that would be great since the M80 has to be almost completely unzippered to load in and out but the newer one seems to have a lot less pocket space so I went with the M80.

I just got a Levy's LM19 and found the pouch to be smaller than I had hoped - so once I sell it I'll be getting the M80. At first I was a bit hesitant because of lack of pocket space....but then I saw this : http://www.monocase.com/mono-M80-tick.asp

Seems to be a good compromise for those who want a Mono with more storage a'la iGIG (well, maybe not as much, but close).

Just bought a Harvest Double gig bag in antique marble cowhide, this thing is the beefiest leather bag I have ever owned.

after a week with the Mooradian double bag I'm very happy with it. It's light weight, which is a concern I had with carrying two basses in one bag, but it sill has adequate protection and padding. Looks to be very well constructed and I expect it to last a long time.
