I installed a brass nut on my '64 T-bird II also! One from the factory had 'off' spacing.

Some people will disagree, but hey, some people like B. C. Rich headstocks, so...

I remember you saying that about the brass nut on yours.
The T-bird and Embassy both had them when I got them - originally changed sometime in the 70's or 80's I'd guess. I've thought about switching them to bone to be more vintage 'correct' - but they play and sound good as is...

It definitely sounds good - those buckers as you know lean on the dark-side tonally so a bit of definition at the nut does it for my ears.

This head stock on the left is all me, 100% me. I wrote the Jackson/Fender/whatever lame 'Custom Shop' and told them I would pay whatever the cost to make my the neck on the left with that reverse head stock and they said no. So now I paid the Chinese to make me it, on the right, and of course the reverse inlays. When I said I would pay anything, I meant it. I'm just waiting for Kramer to start making basses again, as in the reverse head stock 'Striker' model.
