I installed a brass nut on my '64 T-bird II also! One from the factory had 'off' spacing.
I remember you saying that about the brass nut on yours.
The T-bird and Embassy both had them when I got them - originally changed sometime in the 70's or 80's I'd guess. I've thought about switching them to bone to be more vintage 'correct' - but they play and sound good as is...
I know the bongo 4 headstock has already been posted but I like the fully loaded bongo 6er myself.
