Maybe thats my problem...Im missing about 3 strings...I play a 4 banger! Think I have the jist of it..just cant get my fingers moving fast enough. That song is 7 minutes of kick ure arse! My husband plays it with ease on the guitar....kills me!!!! Maybe I need to just settle to the fact that Im not a metal player. Ill go cry now!

You gotta be kidding!
Defenders of the Faith and Screaming for Vengeance are two of the best metal albums around. Painkiller also for me is up there.

As for Iron Maiden, It's hard to choose. A very consistent band with a lot of power. From their catalog I would have to say that my favorites would have to be:
Killers
Number of the Beast
Piece of Mind
Somewhere in Time
Brave New World
A Matter of Life and Death
Seventh Son of a Seventh Son

See, just to many to just pick one.

Also, Man O' War has been creeping into my ipod as of late.

I lost interest in Metallica after the Black album.

This has been the opinionated "Gospel" according to Mike ;).

Wow, if you don't mind me asking, what's wrong with Dave Mustaine as a singer? He's certainly no Bruce Dickinson, but I've always thought Mustaine did a more than adequate job singing for Megadeth. His singing adapts well to different songs (everything from his sarcastic, biting tone in Peace Sells to the emotion in In My Darkest Hour) and helped define Megadeth's music a lot.

Never said he was a bad singer, just that he does nothing for me as a singer.

Maybe we should agree to differ, but seeing as Led Zeppelin were seen as one of the first ever Heavy Metal bands (in the original sense anyway) I think they have a place in this disscussion.

Also regarding classical music, it's definition varies wildly between people because, as it stands, it is such a huge collection of different music grouped together. It's not really a genre at all as say Baroque is. As such it is not, in my mind at least, comparable to Heavy Metal.
