Best Korean made basses?

So what are the top rated basses that are made in Korea these days? I'm asking because I have 2 trips scheduled to South Korea this year and I'd like to do a little shopping while I'm over there. If the bass market is like anything else, I'll be able to pick up a bass DRASTICALLY cheaper than it would be on U.S. soil. Thanks in advance for your help guys.

SHINE (a.k.a. Saein Corp.) does some pretty amazing stuff - aside from making clones of everything, their main six-string looks pretty awesome.

I agree... all Korean Skylines are awesome, but the new ones are now made in Indonesia.

I was under the impression that most if not all Korean-based factories (at least the big Cort factory for sure) had moved elsewhere. I know Lakland is now in Indonesia.

My Ibanez BTB 5 is MIK. I don't know if they still make them their but they are worth a look. I own (and have owned) much more expensive basses, but none that I like any better.

Instruments made in Korea are not necessarily for sale there. I'd guess most go directly to the boat for shipment.

The high end Schecters are hard to beat for Korean made basses.

Ah, that's what I was looking for. High end Schecters are MIK huh? Looks like I know what I'll be on the hunt for.

And Waynobass, you'd be surprised at just what they have for sale over there. Just a year or two ago a good friend of mine picked up an Ovation electric guitar plus hard case for $475 brand new from a store over there. That same guitar was $1400'ish over here from what my buddy was telling me. They always hold back a certain percentage of what they export for local sales. At least that has been my experience over the last 8 years of traveling there for business.

Thanks all for the suggestions and keep them coming if there are any that haven't been mentioned yet. I'll have a look for the BTB as well as the Lakland while I'm there too. If the prices are right, I might snag a few of them.
