Best Lemmy Sound?

I just got this distortion pedal. Im still very new to all these effects and stuff so I was wondering how I can get as close to a Lemmy/Motorhead sort of sound as possible :) Let me know what you think. (I know someones gonna say my 15 Watt amp cant handle too much distortion XD But its all I have)

Bristol 92,
Me thinks you have wondered onto the Double Bass threads, when you intended to post this in the Bass Guitar side of TB. No biggie, happens all the time.

Yep. Lemmy did what he did by sending as hot a signal as he could from his Ric, through extreme EQ'ing into custom Marshall tube heads and cabs. I don't think he ever used pedals much, if at all. On the EQ, he would dime the gain and mids, turn down the bass and treble, and crank everything on his Ric all the way, so he had this huge grinding mids tone that I can only imagine must have been pretty rough on his tubes and speakers.

You can get a taste of what he did here:

That said, you can certainly use dirt pedals to achieve a similar sonic effect. Which is what most people do, since a gear setup even approximately like Lemmy's would cost as much as a car. That pedal you have is meant to emulate the Marshall sound, so you should be able to find something reasonably close out of it. As I recall, Lemmy's custom heads were based on JCM heads, so I'd start with the "JCM 800" setting from the manual and work from there. Hope that helps.

Try a Joyo Golden Face. It's a Marshall amp emulator probably based on the Tech21 British pedal.

Not heard any reports of how it sounds on bass, but there's a lot of love for the Orange Juice, another pedal from the same series based on an Orange amp.

There's all the Joyo British Sound from their previous pedal line-up.

These might have some slight low end loss, but if you want to sound like Lemmy and only have a 15W amp, that's probably just what you need!
