Best lightweight combo with biggest punch

After looking around on TB for this topic, the most recent thread I could find was still a couple years old, so I thought I'd ask to see if there's some more recent info from those in the know.

I currently own a fairly lightweight TC Electronic BG250 1x15 combo, but it's still a bit bulky. I find myself in a situation where I'll be needing to haul my combo amp around on a fairly regular basis, so I was wondering if there's anything I could look in to that's even smaller than the BG250 that still packs a huge punch.

The Fender Rumble series is currently one of the best bang for the buck combos out there. There are more powerful / louder units (but more $$) and there are some with perhaps a more refined tone (also more $$), but for light weight, useable tone, & apparently good reliability, the Fender Rumble series is hard to beat.

If your budget didn't have a ceiling, there are many other possibilities.....

If you want a stand alone combo, my advice would be to get a used GK MB212 for around $400. If you think you may eventually want to add a cab, then I would go with the Fender Rumble 500. My current set up is a Rumble 500 combo with a 115 extension. About 75% of the time I only use the cab because it gives me something to set the combo on.
I use my GK MB212 for practice and if you told me I could only ever use a combo with no cab, I would give it a slight edge over the Rumble.

Aww c'mon, you gotta go with the matching powered 212MBP if you need more juice!

actually I'm in the same boat, I sometimes want to replace my BG250-115 with something else, but cannot find something lighter and more powerful. a head + 112 modern lightweight combo won't be lighter, at least for this price range.

I do have a light 75w combo, but that's another story, it's not a replacement to BG250.

I have the GK MB210 and am very pleased with it. I haven’t compared it with the new Fender rumbles, but when I compared it to the rumbles from 2 years ago, it was much fuller sounding.
The biggest point I was looking at was how each sounded using the B-string. If you’re using a 4 string, either would serve you well!
