Literally every scene in that movie has lines that are gold. What Caddyshack is to golfers, is what This is Spinal Tap is to musicians and/avid music fans.

And Blues Brothers. Whenever I'm hanging out with bandmates/fellow musicians, we always talk about our "Spinal Tap" and "Blues Brothers" moments. I've had too many Spinal Tap moments to count. And I can tell you about this one time a band I was in got "Bob's Country Bunkered" and after it happened, we all said to each other, "Damn, that was just like Blues Brothers. We got Bob's Country Bunkered!"

Anyway, my favorite Spinal Tap line is "It's such a fine line between stupid and..." "Clever"

Rob Reiner talking to Nigel about his guitar collection. Rob starts to point or pick up one of them... Can I at least look at it?
Nigel screams, "Don't even touch that guitar, it's extremely rare, it's never been played and still has the headstock price dangling from the nut. In fact it's so rare, don't even look at it....don't even look at it!"

The reviews:

“This pretentious ponderous collection of religious rock songs is enough to prompt the question, "What day did the Lord create Spinal Tap, and couldn't he have rested on that day too?"'

'This tasteless cover is a good indication of the lack of musical invention within. The musical growth of this band cannot even be charted. They are treading water in a sea of ******** sexuality and bad poetry.'

'The review for "Shark Sandwich" was merely a two word review which simply read "poopie Sandwich".'
