Best looking basses.

Hondo Longhorn Doubleneck

I just recently posted a Longhorn in an 'Ugliest Basses' thread :P. The more I look at them, though, they do have an odd niceness to them.

They're kind of ugly-cute, like a pug puppy. They look better with the original cream pickups (maybe black is original too, I don't know) IMO.

and, this Dano Longhorn looks nice on Aimee Mann:

:crying: just kidding. yeah, hondo's are completely different (& better made and way better sounding IMO) than Danos, but they're not Sadowskys or anything. I have a toothpick broken off in the brass nut for the G string because it was cut to deep for my current strings. And the shape is not good for people who like to sit down. Still, sounds good to my ears and ugly/cute to my eyes. My bandmates agree, but they don't request it over the Ritter that's for sure!

This is what I call totally awesome, however I cannot afford it due to the exchange rates and my budget constraints . . .

Dan from LAG is selling it absolutely mint for about $4,700US for those who are interested and want to see more pics under used basses on his website.

Cheers,
Ozzie :crying:

Now I can't help but wonder if anyone has made a Bass Bass. Heck, with all of the other monstrosities out there I'd only be surprised if it hasn't been done.

It's been done quite a few times, actually. TB's Wademeister built one not too long ago. I'm sure you could find it if you searched through the Luthier's Corner.

While I think that "best looking" is a matter of personal taste and of subjective opinion, I will say that my Carvin isn't exactly chopped liver...

My bass is quite similar, although it is the 34" scale and has gold hardware, and no dots on the neck.

My next Carvin will look sort of like this... except a 6 string fretless with fret lines and no dots.
