It's bookmatched, the lighter/whiteish colored wood is sapwood. I've got some really nice closeups of that bass, and it's "mirror image twin" (the lighter/whiteish part is to the outside), but the files are too big to post here, and I don't know how to resize them...



...thanks for the props on it, FunkSlap89 & jay_t! Somehow Keith and the guys just find the most amazing stuff and do the most amazing things with it...I walk 'round here in shock most days...

how can people not like single cuts when basses such as this exist? the patterns on the wood are just breathtaking. it's like a superhero's bass!

We call that the "half cut"... it was built by a guy named Jacob Marchlewski for me. There is a thread called Birth of a Bass 2... it has all sorts of pics.

Gard, do you have Irfanview? It's a very popular (completely free and safe with no ads) image viewing program, and you can resize your images to fit on TB in about 5 seconds. You should download it if you don't have it.

Also, you can add pics to the TB Gallery that can be larger than 600x600 pixels (you have 5 mb of space there), and once you upload your photos to the gallery, you can just link the photo's address in your post and it will appear full-size.

I love that halfcut, but some of the single cuts the upper lack-of-horn is just a huge block of wood for me - it kinda of looks large and empty.
Just my opinion.

That purple Fbass with the macassar board is gorgeous!

Benavente and Elrick singlecuts are easily the best-looking basses out there to me. There are a couple runners up though, like some of Ken Bebensee's basses.
