Best low B string in the Biz?

I have owned many 5ers and this is what conclusion I have come to:

I like 34 scale basses because of my small/tender hands.

the best 34 B strings I have heard were-

-warwick thumb 6 BO
-fender dimension deluxe 5H
-peavey millennium BXP 5 (yep you heard that right)

I have owned 2 EBMM SR5's and they had decent B strings


the best B string of any bass was my dingwall AB1 (37 inch). this is even more interesting when you consider the AB1 is a passive bass.
; my experience with passive 5ers is that they generally aren't very good (the exception was that cheap BXP peavey)

I have a hunch that active basses tend to have better B's and basses with a HB in the sweet spot seem to be more consistent with the B strings. I also believe the B has to be at least 130 on a 34 or it becomes to floppy.

the best 34 B IMO out there on a mass produced instrument is the dimension deluxe 5H. it is nearly perfect short of a dingwall. these basses fly under the radar but a good B string is hard to find and if a bass has one, its worth considering.

Well, l sure do like My Fender 5 string Jazz. It's got Rosewood fretboard over a Maple Neck. Low B is 36" long/ w .130mm GHS Boomer Round wound str.coupled to a set of Seymour Duncan HotStax Pick-Ups(passive of course). Everyone that hears it, and feels it says it's the best Bass they ever heard. Especially thru my JBL E-155-4 ohm 18" Bass Speaker. In a SWR-Big Ben Cab. With a GenzBenz Shuttle 90,900 watts going thru it. Speaker is 100db senative. Freq.response- +/- 1.5db. 25hz-3k. Incredible. 133db.at peaks and yes people complain they feel me at 3 Blocks away if l want to play that level. Piano Bass string Sound, with a Slew Rate of better than most 12"& 15" Speakers! Thx.

My Small Rig for Small to Medium gigs is a Fender Four string Jazz w/Sey.Dun. ClassicStax Pick-Ups. Jaco style, 34" thru a Gallina Kruger Backline350 amp. Into a single Hardke HyDrive 112 Neo or SWR Son of Bertha 15"w/ Beyma Spkr.in it. Sounds Wounderful. I have a 3/4 size Upright Bass also. L.R.Baggs pick-up & element. Floor Preamp. Sounds Great.

Yup, they're the Best, they're expensive, but you Pay for what you get. Anot her Great Bass is the Drake Basses, out of Nevada, Iowa. 33" 4 or 5 string. They're total Customs, but worth every Penny!

Well, that's Right to you Sir! If the Pick-Ups have the Extended Freq.response, then you'll have all the Bottom one Needs. I can really tell when l Record that Funde-mental. It reproduces it Impeccably!
