I'm definitely with the guys mentioning Between the Buried and Me, Opeth, Mastodon, and some of the other prog influenced metal bands. Their bass tones tend to stand out more than a lot of metal music.
One I don't think I've seen yet is Down. Rex's bass tone on their albums is pretty massive. It definitely stands out more than it did with Pantera.
And to cite another band from the Phil Anselmo side project list, Superjoint Ritual. Hank Williams III gets some cool throbbing tones with them and he can get down on a bass. Nothing too technical, but fitting.
