best octave pedal for bass???

Best all around pedal for live use - OC-3 - no glitching and the tone is good enough.

Best in studio if you can try again and not worry about glitching - OC-2. It's the P bass of octave pedals.

Tone closest to the original note - EBS.

Cool so.... if a person have both pedals, he can experience with both on different studio cuts along with live preformances.Question sir.I've heard some bass players on p basses change out the stager with either qr pounders by Dimarzio or emg. Whats your take on this. I own a 5 string American std p bass with a maple fret board. Let me know. Thanks.

For the Synthy sound I want, the Oct-2 just does it for me. And I really like some Boss pedals. Easy to engage on stage and their stuff lasts forever. I always end up with at least one in a chain, even if it is just a tuner.

I had the Mooer octaver and I thought that was rather cool too, but at the end of the day I much prefer analogue effects whenever possible. Especially filter style stuff.

I'm using and EQD Pitch Bay, and though it's not strictly an octave it's been giving me great sounds for that application (once I figured out how to dial it in). Of course it's basically an EQD take on a POG so there's tonnes of added features like tone up/tone down/up mix/down mix/distortion/and root volume. I find it to track very well and very true right down to B. With some more tonally complex chords it's digital processing lags a little bit, but it is still very much polyphonic.

Maybe a nice versatile option somewhere between going for the Whammy and a more traditional octave.

Micro POG for sure.

Octave Up and Octave Down. Great tracking even on lower notes.
