I have an OC2 on the way. I can't wait till it gets here! I really think it's going to be my kind of octave. I had a POG for a while and it was nice and all, just too digital for my tastes. I think the OC2 will be exactly what I'm looking for. I've also tried the MXR BOC and I liked that too. Very organic I thought.
IMHO of course,
EBS OctaBass sounds the most "natural" and tracks well
OC-2 is "the" sound, but is a little synthy in nature
OC-3 tracks very well, guitar input is better tone-wise
MXR BOD - tracking is spotty and I've owned three
POG - just not my taste sonically
Line 6 M series - digital tracking, analog warmth, very good.
TRex Octavius - high hopes but tracking was off
Octron - really need to try it some day
I will say that selecting the right amp/cab when demoing an octave pedal can make all the difference in the world.
