Best RAT clone for bass?

Listening to all of these samples... I feel like I'm able to get "close enough" with my EQD Blumes. Does anyone else have experience with Rats and Blumes who can comment?

Having both the Blumes and the Rattler, I happen to find that there's is in fact some overlap, specially with the extra gain switch on in the Rattler and higher gain settings in the Blumes. Since I don't think the Rattler sounds exactly like a regular Rat, and the Blumes is a special take on the TS circuit, I think it is not that surprising at all. Obviously, they don't sound the same, but the Rattler is somewhat smoother than a regular Rat, and the Blumes is gainier and less middy than a regular TS, so...

Low frequency handling is probably the biggest improvement bassists would be concerned about.

Generally speaking, how the lows are handled. Just like many pedals on bass. There are plenty of great options out there these days. If you're looking for some, here are my go-to's, with some other popular pedals thrown in.

Volt Thrower
Tremond
Bass Mountain
Blower Box (& Deluxe Version!)
Locust Star
Cat Tail
MXR Bass Distortion

Those are the ones that come to mind quickly, but there are plenty of others. Good luck with the tone search if you decided to go down the rabbit (or rather, rat!) hole!

Old thread, but I don't think there's any need for a clone. I've got a 'lil RAT, and it sounds great. Fingersmoran used ro use a You Dirty RAT, and it sounded really good.
