Best rock lyric ever?

Why's it never light on my lawn
Why does it rain
And never say good-day to the new-born
On the big screen they showed us the sun
But not as bright in life as the real one
It's never quite the same as the real one

And tell me grey seal
How does it feel
To be so wise
To see through eyes
That only see what's real
Tell me grey seal

I never learned why meteors were formed
I only farmed in schools
That were so warn and torn
If anyone can cry then so can I
I read books and draw life from the eye
All my life is drawings from the eye

And tell me grey seal
How does it feel
To be so wise
To see through eyes
That only see what's real
Tell me grey seal

Your mission bells were wrought by ancient men
The roots were formed by twisted roots
Your roots were twisted then
I was re-born before all life could die
The Phoenix bird will leave this world to fly
If the Phoenix bird can fly then so can I

And tell me grey seal
How does it feel
To be so wise
To see through eyes
That only see what's real
Tell me grey seal

Ich brauch' überhaupt nicht viel Geld
Denn ich bin ein schlechter Mensch
Hab' mein ganzes Leben nichts gelernt
Außer, dass man besser die Fresse hält

Sklavenhändler - Ton Steine Scherben
Love that last line. For those who don't know, German has two words for eating, "essen" for people and "fressen" for animals. Great phrase for "keep you mouth shut".

There is a street in Frankfurt (am Main) that runs from the stock exchange to the old opera house that has a bunch of American chain restaurant outlets and some German equivalents on it. The locals refer to it as the "Fressen Meile (mile)". :roflmao:

Another famous German quote is from Berthold Brecht:

Erst kommt das Fressen, dann kommt die Moral.

Sorry for being off-topic

Quit my job, told my boss to stand aside
Grabbed a gun, a fifth of booze, jumped in my ride
Got my girl, she's sixteen and she's really special
I can't slow down, I've got a date with the devil
Two tons of steel, a hundred miles an hour
No looking back, grooving on the power
Responsibility made me quit
I'm sick of this mothershaging goddamn poopie
There's a road, beyond it lies, I don't know
I just gotta run, just gotta go
No looking back, grooving on the power
I never sang a love song
Never owned a car
I've never met a machine that'd drive me this far
Not gonna listen to a word you say
Leaving in the morning just to get away
Can't stand myself for another day
Leaving in the morning just to get away

Poison Idea - just to get away

Murder by Numbers - The Police

Once that you've decided on a killing
First you make a stone of your heart
And if you find that your hands are still willing
Then you can turn a murder into art

There really isn't any need for bloodshed
You just do it with a little more finesse
If you can slip a tablet into someone's coffee
Then it avoids an awful lot of mess

It's murder by numbers, one, two, three
It's as easy to learn as your ABC's
It's murder by numbers, one, two, three
It's as easy to learn as your ABC's

Now if you have a taste for this experience
If you're flushed with your very first success
Then you must try a twosome or a threesome
You'll find your conscience bothers you much less

Because murder is like anything you take to
It's a habit-forming need for more and more
You can bump off every member of your family
And anybody else you find a bore

Because it's murder by numbers, one, two, three
It's as easy to learn as your ABC's
Murder by numbers, one, two, three
It's as easy to learn as your ABC's

Now you can join the ranks of the illustrious
In history's great dark hall of fame
All our greatest killers were industrious
At least the ones that we all know by name

But you can reach the top of your profession
If you become the leader of the land
For murder is the sport of the elected
And you don't need to lift a finger of your hand

Because it's murder by numbers, one, two, three
It's as easy to learn as your ABC's
Murder by numbers, one, two, three
It's as easy to learn as your A, B, C, D, E
1, 2, 3, A, B, C
1, 2, 3, A, B, C
1, 2, 3, A, B, C
Because it's murder by numbers, one, two, three
It's as easy to learn as your ABC
Murder by numbers, one, two, three

One of the Police's best tracks in my opinion
Copelands drumming on this is sublime!

Now of course, like all real life experience stories, this also begins once a polly tito. And Happiness Stan, whose life evolved ne' ephemeral colour dreamy most, had his pure existence and his being a deep joy of the multicolour of the rainbold. Oh yes. His home a victoriana charibold, this the four-wheel folloped ft-ft-ft out the backgrove. Now as Eaved and his deep approachey, his eye on the moon, all time some time deep joy of a full moon scintilating dangly in the heavenly bode, but now only half. "Oh blow your cool man!" he dood this deep thoughcus. "What is the folly of this half disappearing of the moony most?" And as the light did a scintilading change through timely most, stopped still, and he did a deep thoughcus. "What?!" Absloutely smashing flaked he was. So gathering all behind in the hintermost, he ploddy ploddy forward into the deep fundemold of the complicading forry to sort this one out matey. Where at Man he thoucus, where at Man...... oh dear
