Since we're kind of hitting the outskirts of the topic ... Scruffy the Cat ...
My first thought was this one…
… actually, my favourite track on the album is “Gagarin” but I thought I’d stay strictly on-topic, moon-wise.
Worth repeating. Max Webster were the masters of the Moon songs. "Coming Off The Moon", "In Context Of...", "Moon Voices" and especially "Beyond The Moon" which is a masterpiece. The unreleased "Mash Moon In Hawaii" is fun too.
Might already have been posted but though I'm going with Brain Damage, this one should be a contender
on a more serious note, I am sure some will consider DSOTM (and Brain Damage specifically) to be too easy a choice and too plebian. I was 17 when I first heard it, and though I regret wasting so much good time and energy on drugs, it was just part of the world in the mid 70s, or at least in the crowd I was running with. That album was a mind blowing experience. I still love it.
