Best sounding 15" cab

The Ampeg SVT 115E has always been one of my favourite cabs.

I played a Peavey 115BW, then a Peavey 215, then a Dynacord BS412 with an EV and finished my 15's experience with a Mesa Boogie 115 EV.

IMO the Boogie was the best 15 I played.

I did a demo of a head once with a Mesa 115 Powerhouse cab, and was not that impressed. Pretty ganky tone, and got it to fart pretty easy.

I gotta' go with my pair of Joe's Sound & Salami 1 X15s with JBL 140s. I bought them from Corrine back in maybe 1980/81 (I could pull a speaker for a better dating). I used them constantly until I had to hang up playing in 2005 (progressive nerve damage to my hands), but I sure loved them.

The best sounding 115 cab ever made is the Bergantino HT115. I don't like 15s at all, but I like that one. Good luck finding one and, if you do, good luck prying it from the hands of its owner.

Hows it differ from the NV115 ???

OK, for whatever reason, it doesn't rob highs like many other 15s. It has less of the old-school vibe of the NV115.

The HT115 is a very nice sounding box. Makes a lot of noise as well. I would always pick it for solo cab use when I had the choice between it and the HT210.

I wonder if the HT15 used a driver that's out of production, or that it just sounds better in some kind of romantic way. I saw the HT115 specs once..it was an incredibly heavy cabinet. The NV115 sounds really good..I can't imagine Bergantino sliding backwards in loudspeaker design.

With Bergantinos it just depends on you and what your needs and likes are.
I've got a 10 year old NV215 & I think it's the best sounding Berg cab. Not as easy to lift as a Neo 112 but .. well. ..
