This song is a total masterpiece, one of the more underrated songs of the 90s.
A mix of jazz, reggae, hiphop, and a bit of ska just to balance things out.
Although I don't really think of this song as a summer song, the concept is super relatable. For a generation that spent their summers watching nothing but television, that feeling of being trapped in a purposeless lonely summer really hits home.
This song is pretty great, the lines in it are just wild. I feel like it if were an American band it's get better notoriety as a truly great rock song.
It was also pretty cool that a replacement singer could walk in and add such a seamless transition. To top it off he's basically the most successful musician from my home town.
