No problems, even tuned down to Bb.How does the built-in tuner in the GLXD16E behave with low B string?
Still on the website. It looks like the PRA Audio Elf is no longer being made...
Is there a link to that statement? It looks like the PRA Audio Elf is no longer being made...

Thanks. My error... earlier on, I thought the Elf was on its own page. It looks like it's now an option under "Guitar" as a "tone profile."
I used the ELF for a couple weeks, and the noise floor wasn't any worse than other brands, and there is next to zero latency. The problem I had with it, was it was cutting out when I was only 15ft away from my amp or so. I talked to Paul directly, and he was super helpful and super accommodating by letting me switch it out. But while talking to him, he had explained that they had updated/upgraded the "regular" version with a greater frequency spectrum, and suggested I try that, and I could keep whichever I preferred. So I did, and I ended up keeping the regular version. It has served me very well since.Has anyone had any recent experience with the PRA Audio ELF? I love the features and form factor of it, but can't find any recent reviews. I'm under the impression it sounds fantastic, but has a very high noise floor and poor latency.
May I ask what influenced you decision to keep the standard tone profile unit as opposed to the ELF?I used the ELF for a couple weeks, and the noise floor wasn't any worse than other brands, and there is next to zero latency. You can try swapping out the current router for a 5.8GHz router, get it out of the way. Make sure to shut off the 2.4GHz radio, I think most of them broadcast on both 5.8 and 2.4.Tried out the Shure GLX-16 last night. Set up during sound check and it was making crackling sounds all through the check. I ended up going back to wire for this gig.
I use a digital mixer, and a router for my laptop, which I use to mix the band. Since in am running the sound from the stage, the mixer is close to me and I have to assume that the router could be the cause of the problem.
I'll be trying out the PRA Wic on the next gig. I'll keep you all posted.
I totally agree and recommend that bands buy a dual-band router when going that route. They are cheap and provide options. Especially if one has a mixer with built-in wifi. AVOID it.. it's 2.4 and will give you nothing but headaches. Get an external router.. FULL size. You can try swapping out the current router for a 5.8GHz router, get it out of the way. That "cable tone" is a Boss gimmick. I've not found it to be terribly useful myself, YMMV.IMO with an active bass you should get an almost identical sound out of a decent wireless system as you are used to. With passive though you are relying on the pre-amp in your wireless system so it will sound different, not bad just different. I am not sure about your specific system but often they have a "cable" control that should roll of a bit of your highs and make it sound more like a cable.
it's also a line 6 thing and i quite like it, i have it set on my relay G75 to simulate a typical 15' cable. keeps my passive bass still sounding like a passive bass. That "cable tone" is a Boss gimmick. I've not found it to be terribly useful myself, YMMV.
