Unless it changes where you put your right hand?
that's the only reason I can see it changing your sound, unless it has foam in it.

Looks great!Okay I did it. Lightly glued a piece of foam strip under the bridge cover and it's providing just enough mute to take away the raspy sound of the new rounds. They are Dr LO-RIDER lights. It sounds BEE-YOO-TI-FUL!!! I attached a couple of pics for y'all. Thanks for the tip! And thanks to all of my talk-bass friends who gave some good advice and a few laughs!![]()

The foam works better than the sponge on the weather strip. That one completely deadened the low E. Probably the foam weather stripping would work better than the sponge, but that's not in my immediate future. Thanks again!Looks great!
Some basses just aren’t good. No need to trash me or my playing. Was jabbing your comment about it still sounding bad, fender hater? bad playing? lol![]()
I was around, just not in the US.You weren’t around in the 80’s - if you had been, you’d get the joke.
Some players just aren't good, no need to trash Fender Precisions, and i wasn't "trashing" you, lighten up FrancisSome basses just aren’t good. No need to trash me or my playing.
I just wanted to let everyone know who contributed to this thread that I did some more experimenting with my bridge cover. I removed the foam and then put it back on and noticed a somewhat more metallic, hollow tone. When I removed the cover it sounded more like a regular bass to my ears. So it does seem that the bridge cover can change the tone either with or without foam.
I didn’t trash precisions, I said 1 example I had was a dud. Grow up Doug. Some players just aren't good, no need to trash Fender Precisions, and i wasn't "trashing" you, lighten up Francis
