Yes, I've always thought they sounded better than the Bongo. I passed on one maybe 5 yrs back. Probably was a big mistake .

Most good basses just sound like good basses to me, and I think there are very few basses that truly offer something unique.

Big Als are great. I've occasionally thought about selling mine, but then I play it for a few minutes and it's not going anywhere.

I like the idea of the Strat-style configuration of 3 single coils and a 5 way switch instead of the Big Al weird push button pickup selector. I wonder why more basses haven't been built in that configuration.
