Big cabs besides 8x10's

View attachment 5114294
Going to try this thing out today.
Pulled all the old Peavey drivers out of each 4X12 and put two OEM eminence mystery bass drivers in each one. The drivers are stagger so they don't overlap. The empty ports are left open.

I have some of these towers myself. Got everything in the picture for $150 during a city wide rummage sale. The Univox has alnico speakers and sounds very warm and sweet with guitar. Have plugged bass into the Peavys and they handle it, punchy and a decent roll off of low end, nice mid presence with guitar. Very interested to hear the results of your experiment. They are heavy and currently stacked horizontal and used as an entertainment center in the hang out room.

It sounds surprisingly good!
The Orange th100 was getting pretty warm pushing a 4ohm load and with a HPF at 40hz the drivers seemed under powered. So I tried it with the Eden wtb1000 bridged and it quickly became the loudest setup I own. Can't wait to try with the band.View attachment 5114883

I'm amazed that you're getting much bass at all out of that setup with the gaping holes from the missing woofers.

Markbass Classic cabs: CL106 or CL152(my go to cab)

Genz Benz 610T XB2 is awesome and that's coming from a guy who dislikes 10's. Actually regret selling it(GB610) but oh well, I wouldn't have my 152 if I didn't.

Had several GK cabs. 212, 412, 410s. Just not my cup of tea.

Haven't tried the Mesa 215s but one of these may be next on my GAS list.
