Just got a no quote back from Studio Slips. Susan was very nice about it. To complex to build and price. Will quiz Mike for a cover.
Played the original 48 at a bar gig last night. Got lots of compliments on the sound including from a few bass players in the crowd, who were very interested in the cab. I told them to google MAS. Hope that works. I was driving it with the little Kustom 500 watt micro, but it packs a big punch in a small package. Best part was all the dancers. One gal came up close on one number, and we sort of danced together. Later she yelled out,"I love your bass playing". Nice moment for and old hobby pocket player. I am am seriously looking forward to the MAS28 since I am on the long end of my 60's. It would have carried this room fine. One hand carry? Awesome!

It will be worth the wait! It seems that demand for the new 8" based models is keeping the Vortex Master busy here lately.
Anyone have the specs or know what the mid-boost switch on the B28 does for the mid response?

Nope. And I thought it was a treble boost (or cut, depending on how you look at it).

I don't know the specs but, talking with Mike last week, he mentioned that he was able to cross the top (mid/high) section of the Bodai over much lower than he could with the "standard" speakers (like the MAS 28 or my 112) and that that gave him a good deal more control on how he voiced/handled things like the mid-boost switch (which could very well be a mid-high boost switch).

That’s what i hear. A broad but subtle boost across the upper mids and highs. I wonder if I’m hearing that correctly
Can't say without listening, myself, but, from what I gathered from the convo, I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case. I specifically asked Mike if the sound remained well-integrated/cohesive with the boost engaged.

The waiting IS the hardest part.
The mid-boost switch on the B28 changes the padding of the midrange transducers adding or removing 3db of sensitivity to the mids section.
I’m curious about speaker break-in, something I rarely get to do ha!, and found this...
