Hey Mark-it’s been great! The switch is cool, and I have always wanted to try it with a sub. Too bad I was too late to snag yours.

Does anyone here know if there was much development or change to the 110 subs Mike produced, especially toward the later years?

As far as I know, that was pretty consistent in terms of the waveguide, woofer, etc. not changing much, if at all. I think some of the them might have been low-passed differently, depending on whether they were made for use with the Flex or with the 45/110 combo that Mike sold, early on, but can't say with certainty.

Mike talked about running the speaker full-range vs. low-passing it and I think that, on some, he might have built them so that plugging into one input gave you the former and the other the latter but, again, can't say that with certainty (though I remember talking with him about it).

Mike did make some 10"-based cabs around the same time as the subs (MAS 109 and another, I think) which had a slightly bigger enclosure. Some people used those as subs (and Mike made some of those to do double-duty, I think via one jack giving you the 3010 LF woofer-only -- possibly low-passed -- and the other giving you the full-range cab with HF driver). I never played those cabs but I seem to remember Mike ending up preferring the tighter presentation of the smaller enclosure for sub duty (at least with his cabs).

Don't recall all the specifics/models. He made a lot of different cabs, with several variations on some of them, on the way to the current line.

I played my sub with the Flex top, the 46, and an AK Hathor 1203 in various orientations. Worked well live with all of them (though the Hathor required angling up slightly or plugging the port to get a tonal balance I liked -- still, worked great and somehow added clarity to and improved on the already good dispersion of the Hathor).

Didn't work great alongside my MAS 112, the one time I tried it -- I only tried that combo at home but, for whatever reason, it seemed a lot more finicky than the others, so I never took it out (and never needed it with the 112). I remember reading of another poster (@DirtPoorRobbins ?) who ran that combo on-stage, but I digress.

I had the very first FlexMod. Then when the 109 came out I thought about it doing double duty as a sub (and having a "one cab for smaller gigs" solution too) so I sold my sub and Mike build me the 109 that did double duty.
And I too found I preferred the first sub to the 109/sub.
One day I'll get around to trying my Flex Top with my 1,8 on the bottom - but I just haven't felt the need with the B28 sounding so good.

Had a gig last night with the B28.
Got to turn up a bit.
I am pretty used to how great it sounds, but am amazed at how much you can feel the bass this little box puts out (without floor coupling). It's got feel for days.
