Big E Speakers Part 4 - Quadraphenia

Thumbsand - that is a sweet rig. Congrats. I almost went with that but in two pieces. After talking to Mike we ended up with the 46/26 combo. How great is it that you can pick up yr phone and talk to the designer / builder about yr wants and needs. Top shelf service to go with their stellar product.

Genz Streamliner 900, kicks ass!

Cool...so 500 watts it'll give up the goods. Gotta do a little amp head shopping - in the due diligence phase now. The plan was to use my RMI Basswitch/power amp, but as I sit here 3 months out from back surgery, I think I'd prefer having my pre-amp not on the floor in stomp form factor, which would require more bending real low than I might want to be bothered with. So I might sell it to defray the cost of a new head, or keep it for recording. It does sound terrific.

Yup, one of the Gk 800 amps would drive it fully too. Different flavors, but both slam.

I think that the 112 would work well with 350 watts into 8 ohms. A little more---even better. It'll handle 800. I couldn't get it up to 400 watts with my Demeter. It was starting to get painful and there was no gig that I play that I could be that loud.

It is very cool that mike is so accessible. I have learned a lot about bass and tone from him that I might not have learned for years or ever.

I still can't believe one 12" woofer can be as loud and as clean as this thing is. Someone pinch me!
