Big E Speakers Part 4 - Quadraphenia

Thanks to our good brother 3rdcurve, I will soon be having fun with a lightly used MAS 112. I'm excited! :hyper: I know he will be returning to the club soon with another of Mike's unique sound manipulation devices, but in the mean time it sure was nice of him to set me up with exactly what I had been pondering purchasing new (18Sound woofer, sans tweeter)! All I have to do now is drive South a bit on Saturday to meet him in real vs. virtual space/time, talk bass a bit, and load 'er up. I think I can handle it...;)

MA109 + Double bass + Rockabilly/Country Outfit + Winters Tavern in Pacific CA (tons of character!)

Another eye opening and enjoyable gig adventure with just the upright this time. Setup on another riser stage and decided not to use iso pads this time, even though I packed them.

Awesome again. I think the driver is really getting loose now. The drummer was hitting aggressive rods on the slap tunes and the ten belted out articulate bass lines all night. The Gamut guts like this cab, tone!!

Very nice. And I was maybe 3 feet in front of the cab at a slight angle. No feedback battles. Crowd was happy!

I may be selling my 4x10. Never really considered that until now :D

Thank you Mike! I enjoyed our visit, talking bass (guitar) and bass (fish)! It was also fun to meet your son. :) I had to stop by the church and retrieve the Reeves (down to one amp since the Walkabout sold) so I could give the 112 a spin. This speaker is a little powerhouse! I was pleasantly surprised at its compactness. If I am hearing correctly, the single switch on the back is a 3db pad, not a 'mids off' switch. I'm liking it a lot. :cool:

Correct, the switch is kind of a "smoother" circuit.

Just the EUB tonight at a conspicuously similar honky tonk benefit in Woodland CA, at the Black Dragon Brewery. First gig with MA-109 and it is meaty. Kept it low, didnt want to blast sans drummer.

Yes, it is cool look. Yes, the 112 is fun and musical. You can look cool, and enjoy a good sounding full-body pounding when you throw some power at it while standing or sitting close. Very visceral and muscular response. Yet another amazing cab from Mike and the BigE
crew!
