I have to tell you cats.....
The MAS-66 is a perfect gigging cab for most electric players.
The 6/6 has been overshadowed by the esoteric and badass
1O based cabs but the power vs weight and form factor of
this cab are perfect. The cab feels just under fifty pounds and just hammers. My amp runs out of gas before the speakers do. Mike is going to send me a version 2 test soon as I suspect this is what I will settle on. I normally set my tone and never change it. The combo of the 66, Monique and My Alien or Erizias
basses is by far the best live tone of my 3 decades of gear addiction....

It's good to hear back from you on the MAS-66. The power to weight and form factor seems ideal but there has been little user feedback on how the mid voicing on this newer version is working out. I seem to remember yours is an okume build but does it have the latest Faital 3" mid/tweets or is that what version 2 brings? Sounds like it is working out well with your R&B gig?

His is the previous version with the 6's and 2 Ciare tweets. The new one will have 4 Faital 3's and a single Ciare. The 66 sits right in between the 110 and 210 in terms of output.

It definitely wins the output to form factor.

The only reason I haven't gotten going on a replacement for Nomadic is getting the dough together for an OEM 6" run. Should be soon.

22 3/4" tall 26" wide and 13 1/4" deep

1/2" wider than Nomatic's

right around 50#

the new drivers have a lower fs---about 5 hz lower extension

a bit smaller than a 410 but shallower.

competes with a 610 no sweat

Nice weight and size spec there. Shallow is good for back seats and stairs, etc. Nice Mike!

One reason I'm looking to swim in these waters again. I end up in a lot of tight stage situations and depths is often at a premium. The 45 should fit anywhere, and even with the 110 sub underneath you're still only looking at 14" (plus the cable end). That with the fact that each is about 30# - winning.

I dropped off Mike's Roscoe yesterday, new East preamp. Man does Keith Roscoe make a great bass! I listened to a 4x5 with different speakers, still the most elegant bass sound I've heard, but noticeably deeper and louder. I tried one of the latest 4x6's with the OEM speakers. I keep forgetting how amazing that cab sounds and how loud it gets. Very portable and great bang for the buck. Probably would cover any bar or small club. I watched Mike carry a 2x10 down two flights of stairs, by himself, holding it sideways, like he was talking about, with his hand in the port. The cab weighs about 70 lbs. but didn't seem that difficult to move. I tried lifting it myself and I'm 5'6" and as strong as a 9 year old girl, but I had no trouble getting it up. It's a feather compared to my old 410 xlt. I brought my friend Ken to convert him. He plugged in to the 2x10, hit one note, and his mouth actually dropped open. That thing is like being hit by a freight train. Mike is making me a 1x10 Flex now. I chose that over the 2x10 because I think it will cover easily any venue I've played in or outside, and I'm afraid of the 2x10

The 210 is IMO the greatest bass cab ever.

Mike initially was leaning me towards the flex110, but at 50 lbs it is above my self-imposed weight limit. With many years of various back/knee/neck injuries and doing 100+ gigs a year hauling my own gear, the lighter the better. I'd rather have a pair of 30# boxes than one 50#. Ymmv.
