You'll love the puma with that setup! Very heavy down low low low, and cuts with that upper mid grind. You can really hear yourself at all volumes with that amp. Just don't try the glockenklang too or you'll waste weeks trying to decide which amp you like better!

I am fully planning on being set for life with the Puma 900. Plus I like that I can fit it in my back pocket. Okay not really, but that is one amazingly small amp that kicks HARD!

Sorry--- going through the posts and missed this. It's the big e thread but I think that the110 sub would work very well with the 88. Similar dynamic capabilities as the 45 and similar sensitivity. Should actually work pretty well.

Going back to old posts that I may have missed.

The mids in the Flex series are in their own dedicated vortex waveguide. We think that this is the reason that the flex cabs have so much punch and rhythmic authority. We're able to cross the mids over pretty low so eachdriver is in it's own optimized waveguide.

I wanted to say that I've talked to Mike twice on the phone and he is a great resource. Really knows what he is talking about and what a live bassist is looking for. And, he bridges the language gap between technical and the subjective. Thanks for a being a tool Mike........I mean, a very useful resource! ;)

The addiction continues, I was abing my cabs today, by sitting behind and off to the side and the big e cabs were the only ones that I could still hear the clarity, the others lost the clarity and were "muddy" sounding in comparison. This will pretty much happen with any cab though because your sitting behind the cab and the mids and highs aren't being heard as well. But not with the big e cabs!

I usually stand to the side of mine, but I like stepping in front of it and feeling the 'full-body punch'. ;)

Yeah---even in the darker settings the Flex's really punch.

The 45/110 combo can sound aggressive but it's voicing is a bit more elegant.

Even in the more elegant settings the Flex's are a bit more "take-no-prisoners"

I didn't realize at the time that the mid that we're using in the Flex cabs is the same that Roger Baer uses. I was looking at all of the available 6's and saw the 6ND120 and was like "whoa--I gotta check that one out."He's a really smart guy and makes a great cab, I WANT one of his amps. Give me some iron---we don't need no steenkin' digital!

And Duke is using the same midrange in his hifi cabs that go for 3x the price. Faital makes great drivers

I hope you'll tolerate a few questions about your MAS 45 and 110sub.

Re: Maximum Clean Volume
Are you likely to have any gigs that you couldn't cover with the MAS 45 + 110sub? Have you ever wished you had the 210sub instead?

Re: Amplifier Power
Have you found the amplifier power sweet spot that works well with this pairing? Is 500W @ 4-Ohms enough, or does it take something like a Puma 900 to get the most out of this pair?

It does not take a puma 900 to get max volume, my glock is 650w and that is plenty for this rig. Mike was just asking me about this yesterday, I think it is the equivalent of a 310, I can put more watts into the berg 410 before it quits than I can the 45110.

Personally I probably won't need anything more than this rig for a gig. If you find yourself needing more than a 410, you would definitely want the 210 sub. If you're looking for that type of volume though, maybe the flex110 plus a 110sub would be a better option.

I have the 45/110 coming and will be powering with Monique/Minnie or Puma 900 as backup. I'm assuming that will be plenty of juice. I typically can get by with a single Baer ML112 so the 45/110 should be fine. I'm hoping that it would keep up with a pair of ML112s.
