I really like the Polychorus. The flanger and filter matrix sound great with dirt, so I would think that it would work with metal. The flanger is much more subtle than the boss flangers, but I much prefer the sound as it's not too over the top. It retains the lows well, and also has the chorus obviously, and a double track feature. It's very quiet in all modes too and the bypass (unless its true bypass) is pretty good as well- I never noticed and tone loss.
