In my other industry (night job), self-healing is often over-rated. I'm on the road tomorrow with one of my horses and hopefully I won't have to test out that theory

This is what I've been trying to get at. This is a real venue with what seems like a more serious PA system than 95% of the places I play on a regular basis. Not some shithole with two powered speakers on janky ass stands... which I've still DI'd bass into tons of times.

TALK TO THE CLUB. FIND OUT *** IS GOING ON WITH THE PA.

If you're getting a DI feed to the PA you could show up without an amp at all and everything would sound fine out front.

Out of curiosity about the venue and past security issues, I googled around a bit. They were sold about a year ago, so some things may have changed. I didn't find anything on the security issues, but I didn't try very hard.

I did find the 40,000 sq ft is divided among at least two floors (called multi-story or such) and rooms within, but there is an outside area as well.

The source for the 40K sq ft, multi floor and rooms was from their posted information, they being the venue. It sounds to my like a bar on steroids.

Can you stand in front of your pile of cabs now and crank the volume without discomfort?

I can do a full practice set at 7 at about 15ft away next to my pod and mic... with no ear in moniters, my ears will be ringing about 2 songs in. But I use the volume pedal a lot. I'm just looking for a stupidly loud set up for breaks and interludes, honestly when I'm cranked around 9 (which my drummer absolutely hates lol) im Doing way more than cutting through the mix lol

@JWH91 I think you are unclear on the concept of "opening band." Your job is not to be the loudest band of the night, or to have the biggest stack. Your job is to show up on time (or a bit early), set up your rig as directed by the sound guy, warm up the crowd with your 45 minute set, and then quickly vacate the stage for the next act.

My job is to make sure people think, daaaang these guys were better than the headliner. Veni Vidi Vici, we've done this on more than one occasion. I asked Aaron and yes my rig WILL NOT. Be DI. The DI is set up for the headliners gear. Our equipment will be set up and torn down before the other bands begin

Everything is at 8 ohms in each jack. Each input to a single cab, no daisy chaining, no ohm uncertainty. So please you and @agedhorse enlighten me
